Tuesday August 28, more than a dozen photographers and writers, from Durham and Toronto, along with several sponsor guests, joined us for our 2nd annual Savour the Season kick-off. The day started with a slice of Archibald Orchard & Estate Winery’s famous Apple Crumble pie and wine sampling. Next stop, Executive Chef Thomas Heitz, served up a smorgasbord of local tastes featuring a dozen Durham farmers on the Port Restaurant patio. The tour wrapped up with a visit to meet the farmers themselves at the Pickering Town Centre Farmers’ Market. Each of these venues is open to the public. Check websites for details.
